The team is fired up and ready to go, with a dedicated coaching staff behind them. First up is the IBJJF in Nashville, TN on April 22 nd , where we’ll have 10 competitors test their skill in the Music City. The following weekend on April 29 th we will be hosting the Gorilla Cup, an in-house jiu-jitsu tournament which provides a great opportunity for all skill levels to test the waters of competition in a safe and friendly environment.     The coaches and staff of Spartan Fitness MMA Birmingham attended SBG Spring Camp this weekend in Athens, GA, where we honed our skills and learned new techniques from some of the best instructors in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, including Matt Thornton, John Frankl, and Ben Power to name a few. While at camp, Coach Chris Conolley received his third degree on his black belt! This is quite an achievement, and we are proud to celebrate Coach Chris’s accomplishments.     Hey, tribe! We’re closing out October and closing in on a full calendar of events through the end of 2022! This month has been full of celebration, starting with a successful weekend for our BJJ competition team at the AGF tournament on October 1 st . Spartan Fitness placed 2 nd as a team in no gi, and 3 rd in gi. On October 15 th , Coach Anna traveled to Hernando, MS to fight for the SEFC 125lb. title and came home a champion! She fought flawlessly and won by TKO in the 2 nd round. I love to take the strength and conditioning classes. Coach Omar takes the time to explain each exercise so you know exactly what you are working and how to do it properly. The one thing I like the most is that every class is different and you work our your full body! You'll always feel great about the workout and Coach Omar is super fun to take class with! The atmosphere is always great and we have an awesome time!
