The excitement is palpable at Spartan Fitness MMA/SBG Alabama as a group of dedicated competitors prepare to take the world stage at the upcoming World Masters IBJJF tournament in Las Vegas. Coach Roger Coelho, Steven Deskin, Shane Spray, and Matt Wright are headed to Sin City next weekend, and we are proud to have them represent our team. These competitors are not just athletes; they are a close-knit tribe of individuals who have honed their skills, trained tirelessly, and are now ready to showcase their prowess on the international Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) scene.
The team’s preparation is reaching its zenith, culminating in a special training camp that is open to all levels of SBG jiu-jitsu students on Sunday, August 27th, from 1-3pm. This training camp is a unique opportunity for the entire tribe to come together and help prepare our competitors as they fine-tune their techniques, work on strategies, and bond with their fellow teammates. Foundations students and Advanced Spartan Athletes are welcome! The training camp won’t just be about rigorous drills and rolls—it will be a chance for everyone to connect and bolster each other’s spirits for the intense competition that lies ahead. We will also have a limited-edition Spartan Fitness Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu t-shirt available for purchase at the gym during the training session so be sure you don’t miss out!
These competitors have put in hours on the mats, faced challenges head-on, and have shown what it takes to pursue success on the world stage. But the tournament isn’t just about individual achievement; it’s about the collective effort of a gym that has become a family. Spartan Fitness MMA/SBG Alabama takes immense pride in its competitors and the values they represent—dedication, discipline, and resilience. So come and celebrate our competitors with us! We are looking forward to helping our teammates prepare for the World Masters IBJJF tournament and hope to see you all there!
